How to Motivate Yourself and Get Rid of Fear and Tension?
It is very difficult to stay motivated during the Exam Preparation. You get demotivated many a time. You may feel exhausted or depressed. Pressure from family and friends exerts tremendous stress and anxiety on you. Fear and Tension are universal. Everyone gets tensed during the exam. A little bit of tension is helpful but too much is harmful. Since childhood, you are frightened by parents, neighbors, fellow students, teachers that exams are a life and death situation. Because of this inherited fear, you will not enjoy yourself while studying. The subconscious mind remembers exam as fear and tension.
Suggestions to Motivate Yourself, Get Rid of Fear and Tension
- Whenever you get a feeling of quitting, simply quit for the time being. Enjoy some time by doing your favorite entertainment acts like reading novels, watching movies or playing video games, etc. You can also spend time with friends and family. Take one day off every week. Don’t kill entertainment.
- Think of what you could do once you are selected for the exam. You can benefit the public. You could become a hero. Assume yourself in such heroic roles.
- Everyone else is also experiencing the same fear and tension just like you. So meditate daily for 15 to 30 minutes. This act relaxes your brain and helps you to concentrate more.
- Know yourself. Prepare a timetable according to your caliber. You can study 2 hours per day but still achieve your goal
- Read Bhagavad Gita. Adopt Lord Sri Krishna’s philosophy – “Do your task. Leave the result to me. If something happens, there is a reason for it.”
